Oh and I wanted to add that I have qualified as a Level 2 Groomer! I was the only one to pass the exam completely 100%! So I'm very happy about that! I've also bought Tilly a fleece tug lead. All the agility people have them, so I thought I'd try and fit in. Still hard though, having a big hairy bear amongst all the tiny, slim, sleek Collies *rolls eyes*. There's nothing wrong with them, but it's just nice to see another type of dog doing well at agility once in a while! She's high-drive, so loves the lead, but will veer off course to grab it and continue over the jumps holding it! So someone now has to hide it during a run!
We're really working hard on Tilly's contacts at the moment. We had a short 1-2-1 with our instructor who said that because her stride is 'masssive' she's not even registering the fact that there are contacts there! So the plan is I keep my arms at my side (no pointing or putting hands in pockets for treats!) shout 'WAIT' before she gets to the contact and completely stop just after the end of the dog walk. This should slow her down and make her walk all the way to the end without jumping off (in theory). Anyway, this shall be tested on Sunday! We get 2 attempts at Silver, and no treats are allowed in the ring, so this should be interesting!!
